Funding Priorities
The CASSS Foundation for Science directs charitable contributions toward areas where support can have the greatest impact. Currently, Foundation funding is focused on the following priorities, which advance global scientific collaboration, expand access to knowledge, and invest in the next generation of scientists and regulatory leaders.
Donations to the Foundation support these priorities collectively, allowing resources to be directed based on current needs and opportunities.
Regulatory Authority Participation
Bringing together scientists from industry, regulatory authorities, and academia is central to CASSS’ ability to advance biopharmaceutical science and encourage global regulatory alignment. However, travel costs can create significant barriers to participation, particularly for representatives from smaller and mid-sized regulatory authorities around the world.
Foundation support helps expand participation by regulatory authorities at CASSS meetings, enabling regulators to share their expertise with the broader biopharmaceutical community, engage directly with their international counterparts, and bring knowledge and perspectives back to their regional organizations.
Emerging Leader in the Advancement of Scientific Knowledge Award
The Emerging Leader in the Advancement of Scientific Knowledge Award (ELAA Award) provides rising professionals with hands-on experience developing scientific content for a CASSS symposium. Award recipients work alongside experienced scientific and regulatory leaders, gaining mentorship, professional exposure, and practical experience contributing to the scientific dialogue of the CASSS community. Next Generation Investigator Awards
The Next Generation Investigator (NGI) Awards help promising early-career scientists participate in CASSS conferences and forums through travel support and waived registration. The program gives recipients opportunities to present their work, engage with established scientists and regulatory leaders, and build connections that can support their continued development within the biopharmaceutical field. Student Day at WCBP
CASSS Student Day at WCBP introduces graduate students and postdoctoral researchers to the biopharmaceutical community through direct participation in the WCBP Symposium.
Students gain exposure to current scientific and regulatory challenges, explore career paths, and connect with professionals from industry, academia, government, and related organizations. By integrating Student Day participants into the larger scientific meeting, the program provides an early opportunity to experience the collaborative community that drives progress in biopharmaceutical development and regulation.
