Higher Order Structure 2019 Poster Winner

Congratulations to Ingrid Grunert, Principal Associate with Roche Diagnostics GmbH, for winning the Higher Order Structure (HOS) 2019 poster competition!

Ingrid's poster is titled "Assessment of susceptible chemical modification sites of trastuzumab and endogenous human immunoglobins at physiological conditions."

"I am very thankful and honored to receive this recognition by the CASSS HOS community, and I also want to thank the whole team that contributed to this work," said Ingrid.

"Our study assessing the chemical degradation of trastuzumab in vitro and in vivo demonstrates that chemical modifications occur faster in vivo compared to levels observed for bio-process and real-time storage conditions – and can be predicted by in vitro PBS incubation studies. These results, hence, question the rationality of extreme monitoring of low level alterations as critical patient safety parameters in product quality control testing. Altogether, this reflects the importance of better understanding biological degradation in vivo."

CASSS Connections Mentoring Program at Higher Order Structure 2019

The CASSS Connections program was developed to foster deeper engagement between early-career attendees and the broader CASSS community during specific CASSS conferences. CASSS Connections events feature career guidance and networking opportunities. The latest CASSS Connections took place at the Higher Order Structure (HOS) in San Mateo, CA, April 8-10.

Fifteen members (eight mentors and seven mentees) participated, meeting to discuss a variety of career and scientific topics.

The relationships that participants build during CASSS Connections events will continue long after a conference is over. Keep a lookout in the CASSS Community news for upcoming CASSS Connections events.
