Bioassays 2019
Share |

CASSS and the Scientific Organizing Committee are excited to welcome you to Bioassays 2019: Scientific Approaches & Regulatory Strategies. We look forward to your participation and input on May 5-7, 2019 at the Gaithersburg Marriott Hotel Washingtonian Center, Gaithersburg, Maryland USA.

Recombinant protein and biological products are becoming more complex and the evolving technology including patient-centric, gene- and cell-based therapeutics are changing the landscape for bioassays. The bioassay is a critical element of the control system for this class of therapeutics and is often required to support lot release and stability testing, as well as comparability and characterization studies. Developing robust, QC-suitable bioassays that reflect all the potential mechanisms of action can be challenging, particularly for novel biologic therapeutics or those that incorporate multiple active sites. This is no easy task! As such, bioassays must be scientifically relevant and reflect the mechanism of action. The CASSS Bioassays Symposium provides attendees an interesting view of this exciting class of analytics, along with current technical and regulatory perspectives in an interactive atmosphere.

Bioassays 2019 is a premier bioassay symposium that presents a truly unique opportunity for attendees to interact with key industry thought leaders and discuss topics such as current perspectives, strategies and technologies used for bioassays. In addition, attendance by regulatory representatives from the US FDA, Health Canada and various European agencies has been strong each year. Participation by both industry and regulatory leaders encourages active discussion and debate on contemporary issues related to bioassays.

The CASSS Bioassays Symposium format incorporates case study presentations as well as a dedicated panel discussion in each session. This format encourages a lively dialogue between all attendees and results in an additional focus on the technical regulatory details of each topic. In addition, an Exhibitor Partner Scientific Showcase and exhibit gives attendees the opportunity to learn about new technologies and to continue discussions in an informal setting. The 2019 version of the CASSS Bioassays Symposium promises to maintain the tradition of high-quality standard case studies, scientific discussion and networking. The aymposium will consist of four major sessions: The Mechanics of Bioassays: Assembling the Nuts and Bolts; Beyond Basic mAbs…Bioassays for New Complex Modalities; End-to-End: Lifecycle of a Potency Assay; and Regulators’ Reflections.

NEW THIS YEAR!!! A workshop on bioassay development and understanding will be held the prior to the start of the conference on Sunday, May 5, 2019 from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm. Come and learn how to build a better bioassay from two well-known bioassay specialists.

Plan on joining us at CASSS Bioassays 2019 for what will surely be an informative conference on the current thinking, strategies, lessons learned, development and standardization of methods and technologies used for bioassays.

We look forward to seeing you at the 2019 CASSS Bioassays Symposium May 5-7, 2019 in Gaithersburg, Maryland!
