As the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak has rapidly grown to the level of a global pandemic, CASSS leadership has taken the following actions in the best interests of our members and staff.

• Analytical Technologies Europe, Lisbon, Portugal
Originally scheduled for 10 – 13 March has been rescheduled to 3-6 November 2020.
• Higher Order Structure, Gaithersburg, MD, USA - April 20 - 22, 2020
Cancelled. New dates for April 2021 will be announced as soon as they are available.
• Netherlands Area Biotech Discussion Group (NLAB), Leiden, Netherlands - 14 May 2020
Cancelled. New date will be announced as soon as available.

We continue to explore options, including virtual, for the following meetings:
• Bioassays, Gaithersburg, MD, USA - April 26 - 28, 2020
• CMC Strategy Forum Europe, Stockholm, Sweden, May 11 - 13, 2020

Our priority during this time is doing our part to slow the spread of this novel virus.  We continue to monitor and follow the advice of the Centers for Disease Control and WHO, including limiting face-to-face contact between people and seeking options to temporarily postpone or cancel events and programs.

Amid the uncertainty, the biopharmaceutical industry is displaying extraordinary purpose and motivation to meet the coronavirus threat head-on. Numerous companies have entered collaborations to work on new products. Investigators around the world are looking at re-purposing existing medicines that might be able to help patients. This is leadership at its best.

Ever since experts began calling for social distancing to reduce transmission of the respiratory virus, people around the world have demonstrated they were listening. From students whose schools are closed offering to pick up groceries for their elderly neighbors to scenes of Spaniards cheering for medical practitioners from their windows, people are mobilizing impressively. We will all be called on to show patience, resilience and determination. There’s no way to know how long the test will last, but we are committed to doing our part to make it through.

Thank you for your patience as we are trying to make the best decisions for each situation.

We will provide updated information here as it is available.
