Convergence and Harmonisation The theme for WCBP 2017 is “Convergence and Harmonisation”. We challenge everyone to incorporate elements of this theme not only throughout the conference, but to take the concept back to their offices, their laboratories, and their manufacturing sites. As our industry grows and there are more biotechnology-derived and biologic products on the market, the complexity of lifecycle management of CMC changes becomes more and more apparent. Innovation and new technologies are being developed faster than we can practically implement them. By converging and harmonizing wherever possible with regards to the development and review of regulatory submissions, and in the manufacturing, testing and release of products, we will provide ourselves with more resources to implement new ideas in a timely manner for the benefit of the patients who need our products.
Please join us at WCBP 2017, the 21st gathering of this Symposium, to help us drive towards convergence and harmonization. Come listen to the patient perspective from Jeff Allen, our Keynote Speaker from Friends of Cancer Research. Learn from and network with regulators from around the globe, including our first representation from the Ghana FDA and the WHO. We thank our long time US FDA partners for their continuing support of the WCBP Symposium and look forward to their participation. Industry representatives from small and large companies, and from all CMC-related functions will find something new and interesting.
With this exciting program, I extend an invitation to each of you to join us at WCBP 2017 and to join in the discussions; for open discussion is the true hallmark and value of this Symposium series.
On behalf of the WCBP 2017 Symposium Co-chairs and Program Committee
